The Palm Pre might not be available for purchase for a few days, but that doesn't mean you cannot purchase Pre accessories, at least from some Sprint stores. Forum member Artap99 managed to purchase a Palm Touchstone to go with soon-to-be purchased Palm Pre. His local Sprint Store charged just $49.99, a bargain compared to the rumored $70 price that was floating around the Internet after the customer representative quoted him the incorrect price.

Just a few days ago, the Palm Touchstone showed up in Best Buy's inventory system with an in-stock date of May 10th. Today, yet another Best Buy leak shows an in-stock date of June 7th, leading to further speculation of a possible release date for the Pre. If last night's rumor is to be believed, a release date could be announced in the Wall Street Journal next Tuesday.

A Best Buy employee has revealed new Pre accessories and cases have shown up in Best Buy's internal system. The coveted Touchstone charging dock is priced at $69.99, a price that will likely leave many taking a pass on the new inductive charging device. The Touchstone Kit does come with the back cover.

While most manufacturers are content designing and developing hardware, Palm's focus has also been on the design of accessories for the Pre. Last week, we talked about the Palm Touchstone, a unique charging apparatus that allows doesn't require cables to charge the Pre. Like the Palm Pre, the Touchstone doesn't have a price point. We asked our readers , "Do you plan to purchase the Palm Touchstone". The results are in and all signs point to the Touchstone being the first must have Pre accessory.

When the Palm Pre was announced, one Pre accessory that was front and center during all the demonstrations was the Touchstone charging dock. By all accounts, the Touchstone is a unique accessory removing the need to physically plug-in your phone in order to charge it. While we continue to wait for a Palm Pre release date and pricing, the same is true of the Touchstone charing dock. Palm has four Pre accessories listed on their website, with the Touchstone being the most intriguing. What are some of the advantages of the Touchstone charing dock and why might it be the first "must have" Pre accessory.

Palm today introduced a line of Palm Pre accessories, with the spotlight on a new charging dock being called the Palm Touchstone. With the Touchstone, Pre owners can simply place the Palm Pre on the Touchstone. The Touchstone has a magnet that will allow you to easily dock the Pre without having to access the microSD. Once attached, the Pre will charge immediately and you can also check your calendar, watch videos or surf the web. You can dock the Pre in either landscape or portrait mode, depending on your preference.
