Pre needs to give users what they want. They CAN NOT afford to not do this the way the iphone can. 4 months out (into a crowded and very competitive field) and I still can't customize this thing. Many would appreciate being able to back up, I mean sync this thing on a desktop without paying extra $$$. That's a simple start, give us what we want.

How about getting in a meeting room with Sprint and getting us visual voicemail? How about a leak that a video recorder is being worked on? How about checking out the numerous patches that a small percentage of Pre users are enjoying and working towards incorporating those changes into webOS?

WebOS appears to be far superior user experience to iPhone & Android (IMHO) excluding how weak or limited the SDK and lack of APIs (I don't really know what I'm talking about but you know what I mean).

Patching up my phone and downloading homebrew apps (e.g. Music Player remix, LED notification enabling, battery percentage!!!) has made my experience much better. If not for this I'd probably just be waiting for a stellar Android phone to come to Sprint (not sure Samsung Moment is it).

For the time being I'm sticking with WebOS but I'm growing impatient. A true flagship Sprint phone that lives up to the hype may just "turn" me ("I never turned you Frank" ). A young operating system IMHO is no excuse for me still not to be able to customize my text alerts and to let there be all these patches that are showing up (not intentionally) Palm IMHO.

When's the next update and what will it include?

btw, I am impatient. If Palm is at all betting on the consumer being patient, they've lost already. I'm still rooting for WebOS though.
