Not from the phone client. It is best to do it from your computer email where it is more advanced and have "empty trash" capabilities. This is a mobile version, and it is not as advanced as your Outlooks or Gmails or Yahoos.

On a separate note, why are you worry about deleting trash? It is not taking any resources and as far as I know all of the mail systems automatically delete messages 30 days or older.... My $0.02
