This is a Hard case and comes in different colors as well. The only difference from the jell cover is this does not make the Pre look like a plastic rubbery toy like the jell faceplate does. This looks more solid. It comes in a rubbery grip or metallic colors.

Those plastic cases feel cheap on the phone. I also don't like how it snaps on, I feel like I'm messing the phone up. So no one has a silicone case?

I also bought several Jell cases but I like switching colors every week so I change faceplates often. Hopfully it doesn't damage my skin on my Pre. I guess it also depends on the quality of the casses. To me the Jell makes my Pre look like a toy comparing to my solid ones. I have ordered many faceplates since we have 3 in the household that have the Pre and I have thrown many faceplates away as well but I think the Rock Fish is the best but they only come in 2 colors

Are the Jell cases true jell cases in the sense they are flimsy?? I feel like that wouldn't hurt the phone as much.

The jell casses are made out of jell but they feel more like flexible rubber. The manufacturer pours the jell in a Pre Mold that gives this the shape. However it does good job protecting the phone. I also had several jell casses for my Treo 800 and have dropped it a few times. It works well. The Rock Fish case will do a better job. I use a Gadget Guard on my Pre as well as a case for extra protection. I take my Pre with me when I sky dive, ski, board and rock climb so I put my iPod, and phones and all my gadgets through a lot but as long as I'm carefull, It's in one peice. I lost a total of 3 Palm Treo's on rock climbing trips over 12,000 feet. I guess I truly put these casses through the test. I'd rather trash casses than my phones

Good info, thanks. Any chance you have any pics of the Jell cases? I refuse to buy a plastic case, I don't like how the look.

Here is what they look like. They also make them for thePalm Treos and the Palm Centro

Can you post a link to the "jell" cases in your pic (I like the green in particular)? I searched for "jell case palm pre" and only got the Amzer "jelly" cases. Are these the ones you use/posted pics of?

I still think the best one I have bought and fits like a glove with the holster clip is the RocketFish at Best Buy. It absorbed every outdoor torture I put my Pre through..
