Ok... So I decided to make a poll to have a quick referrence to what can cause the battery life of the pre to fail soo darn rapidly. Click on the poll question that best fits your category for your batterly life.
Battery Fixed!!! Updated 6/11/2009!!!! This is how the battery life went the day I was pissed off and ready to turn this b!#c# back in.
Woke up and took the phone off the charger at 7am. Looked on the computer and checked my battery at 7:06am and was at 96%.... What the f^(k.
Hopped on the Motorcycle and rode to school with Music Player on which took 20 mins and at 8:08am. Battery was at 83%.
Got out of class at 11:20am and battery was at 28% so I decided to go to the sprint store. At this point Im pissed. I got there at 11:58am and battery was at 4%. Handed the guy my phone and was like I need you to check this for me and he was like its gonna take an hour so I went to my lab at school and picked it back up. When I picked it up the phone was completely dead. So I took it home and plugged it into the charger. I called Palm and was pissed and was like yall need to send me a battery. They told me to keep it on the charger and do the reset, hold down power and toggle the phone silence switch a few times. It reset the phone. I left the phone on the charger for like 10hrs after that and I was like this crap aint gonna work and took it off the charger later that night and waited like 2 hours and the battery barely moved. So I was like ok this may be a fluke. I left it off the charger all night and lost like 4%. I charged it up early this morning to 100%. Played MP3 Player for 25mins and it went to 93%. At 10am it was at74% and that was with me playing with it all day and on wifi and searching the net in class. Turned the wifi off at 10am. Was at school in the library so I decided to charge it up a little. Started Playing Pandora with 97% at 5:45pm and still playing it on the phone 3.5 hrs later and have 30% left. I have also sent like 50 texts and checked my email and still have 30% left. I think its doing pretty well.
So to fix the problem...
1. Let phone die
2. Plug it into the charger
3. reset it with the hold down power switch and toggle silent switch
4. Leave it on the charger for at least 10hrs
5. Set your email sync to every 6hrs.

Where is the poll???
Ok, see it now
My battery sucked until I got rid of hotmail
Quick example I wa watching a video on you tube with the battery being at 100% by the time i finished watching it it was down to about 92%. I'll most likely pick up the Seido extended battery...

The phones came with a charge, so technically their very 1st charge would have been from the manufacturer. Not sure what exactly you're trying to find here.
Lithium Ion batteries are not that susceptible to memory effect, nor do they need the initial primer charge like in the days of Ni-Cd. The first time you charge them is just the same as any other time, though fully depleting and recharging can sometimes give the device a better gauge of the battery life.
So I don't think you're going to find a correlation between the "initial" charge and the battery life.

Can I vote twice?
With Hotmail account I got 3-4 hours, at best, and you could fry an egg on the back of it.
Without Hotmail account I'm at 68% charge at 7 and 1/2 hours and counting and it is cool as a cucumber.
Really!!!!! I think I am gpong to bookmark msn to check email and erease the hotmail from the phone.
That is what I'm doing while waiting for a Palm software fix. In the meantime you can get Hotmail to send you SMS text messages when you receive emails from your contact list. It isn't push but it is an alert of sorts.
