Been a few months now but you can add "patches" aka tweaks that add features or change features. Then you can Theme your pre...more than just change wallpaper. These require a special program called Preware or Webos Quick Install. Do a search for those terms to see how to do this. And besides the main app catalog, some developers post "homebrew" apps. These are beta apps or just something they wanted to make independant of the Palm submitting process.

But its recommended that you get to know your pre, regular style, unless you feel comfortable messing around with these things.

I agree with RanGT, try out your pre on standard for a second, then hop right into homebrew. I personally am a big fan of preware. Once its on your pre, you can download themes to trick out your pre.(changes txt app, icons, browser, phone etc) meanwhile out the box, the most recent update has left pre users the ability to change ringtones and alerts (oooo exciting lol). On another note welcome to Everythingpre!

Welcome - they are fairly compatible with Mac's. I used Missing Sync with my Centro and it worked just fine. I have not used it with my Pre because I decided to use Google Contacts and Calendar.
