Default Phone feels hot all the time..

I'm beginning to think there is something wrong with my phone or battery. The thing is hot even when doing nothing. My battery went from 89% to 52% in little over an hour doing NOTHING!!! I have turned everything off that is recommended, turned down brightness, etc. shut applications, turn screen off when not in use. Really frustrating. It shouldn't be hot when idle for an hour.

Was the lower back part of the pre that feels hot? If so, I have the same problem and I don't think it is the battery. I opened up the back cover to check, the batter was warm but not hot. but the lower part of my pre is extremely hot.

same here. yesterday i popped the back cover off and felt that it wasn't the battery but it was the space below it that was very hot when not in use.

this morning it is much better and not hot (but still luck warm, much warmer than my mogul) but battery consumption is still draining quickly. unplugged from charger around 745 and now at 1000 with no use at all, i'm at 50%.

Have you guys updated to 1.0.2? Fixed my phone heat related issues. It's still a little warm (sometimes) but before it was almost scalding hot.

Mine is doing this too... When I was using the telenav while it was plugged into the car charger, the thing was almost scalding...

I am finding when the signal strength is low, it tends to keep pretty warm as well...
I wonder if this heat problem is a known or acceptable issue with Palm?? non of the Pre released reviews mention it, but then again, perhaps this is why people were not allowed to hold it

Its one of the biggest concerns I have with the phone at this point...

I don't have these issues... I am also using a BB charger to charge my phone (same micro USB end). I remember when I did charge with the Pre charger, it got hot. Let me try that again and see what happens.

Doesn't seem to be charger related.

Under Device Info, I see that I have WebOS 1.02 - It was Preinstalled out of the box... but I am still getting pretty significant heat issues and battery drains; not all the time, but mostly when I'm roaming or have a week signal
