a note to anyone who gets this phone... learn how to soft reset/reboot the phone right away. DO NOT TAKE THE BATTERY OUT EVER! i figured they should have just made it so you couldnt take off the back but it will give you problems if you decide to take it out after activating your phone and setting up everything.

another note.. the phone is called the pre because its 'pre'dictive and 'pre'cognitive of the user and what the user is looking for.

this isnt going to be an iphone killer. the iphone is a great device on a bad network. this is another great device on a good/decent network.
    thanks for the heads up...

The Pre may not "Kill" the iPhone, but I would be happy with a severe slap in the iface...

From his original post I believe he didn't say that the battery is a pain to take "out" he just pointed out that if you take the battery out it causes problems with the phone when the battery is replaced again. However, if the battery was not able to be removed than one of the areas where palm "beats" the iphone was having a removable battery...so...ya

It even says ^^^ that you can buy spare battery....If the phone is powered off, why would it hurt the phone's settings?? Doesn't make sense but I haven't used the phone yet, so who knows...

the battery is not hard to take out. it is just not advised to be taken out. there are a number of ways to reset the device without removing the battery and palm directly told me to inform this to everyone. just trust me. its going to be easier than an iphone to replace a battery compared to an iphone but don't do it unless you absolutely have to. u may need to call sprint tech support in order to be able to use your phone again if u do. this is just advice from palm

Yeah, I think your info is correct. Because I did not find anything about how to reset Pre in the User Guide .

Do you know some of the ways to do so already.
It will be very useful for all? Thanks

there are actually 4 ways to reset the pre..
    1. hold power and toggle mute switch on and off 6 times.
    2. hold power and toggle volume up and down 6 times.
    3. reset from phone settings.. (full or partial)
    4. I don't remember the 4th but I think it had something to do with an orange button on the keypad...
