Default Web during a Call????

Am I doing something wrong, or did I not hear and read that we would able to access the web during a call? Well, I've had calls come in while on the web and I cant do anything on the web. I cant even send a text message during a call. Its tells me to switch to Wifi.

Any ideas?

It only does it if you're on wifi. No other phone can do it either...

I thought so. I was wondering if there was some magical hack I was missing. Thanks

if you using the wifi for data, yes. No phone can do data and call unless it's wifi enabled.

My friend who has an iPhone 3GS came over this evening and I asked him that question. He had wifi turned off and could still call and surf at the same time on the AT&T 3g network.

Is everyone here ill-informed about competitors' phones?

If im not mistaken, CDMA phone currently can not call and do data at the same time. GSM phones can. If you have WIFI on and connected then yes you can. I hear that there is some new Tech. that will allow CDMA to do voice and data but it is not commercially available yet.

Yes Kevdaddy is spot on. It has NOTHING to do with the COMPETITORS phone but CDMA and GSM as a whole. So you can hace a crappy phone from ATT and it will do it since it is on GSM. The new 4g from sprint will be able to handle it, but as the numerous threads here and abroad state this version of the Pre might or migh not be 4g compatible...

Fail on me for giving erroneous information...
