Anyone get screwed out of getting a pre? I did! Not because they ran out, mine was right in front of my eyes. I'm 18 and currently am on a family plan for nextel. My dad came with me to try to figure out some things with the plans before we got the phone. For one sprint does not even give a damn about nextel anymore. They don't have any plans to accomadate for them so If I got a pre my mom couldn't have nextel since me and her share a nextel plan currently. She would have to pay double our current shared plan just for herself to have the most basic plan. Then after a half hour in there trying to figure things out, the dude behind the coutner says if you are going to get the pre its going to be $525 because your not up for an upgrade so you only get $75 off since its $600 flat out. Wouldn't you think the dude would of said that in the first place. Now if I want a pre I have to wait untill Febuary :angry: I've been looking forward to this phone and doing research for 3 or 4 months now, but after that I might be getting an Iphone.
We tried that, since you have to get a different plan to have the pre. The only thing the people said that would work would be for me and my mom to switch phone numbers since shes due for an upgrade. But if we switch back after awhile it will void out rebates and it will get charged so we would have to stick with the switch.
so switch phone numbers, if u really want the phone its not that hard now adays to get in contact with everyone.
Even if I do that my mom will still get screwed tho because she won't be able to keep her nextel unless she wants to pay more for just her then it was for me and her combined before.

I'm screwed as well...I planned on getting the phone through telesales or online, since there are no Sprint retailers, Best Buys or Radio Shacks here. And the Wal-Mart doesn't carry the Pre. So I'm stuck waiting until it's available online...hopefully it won't be too long.
Getting off Nextel is not a bad thing. You should use the pre as an excuse for you and your mom to leave that slowly dying network.
This doesnt help the situation with your mom being left to pay more on a single plan but... I have heard from quite a few people (and heard it in person) that sprint employees are telling people that are on family plans that wish to switch to a single plan under their own name and keep their number are only eligible for the full rebate if they were eligible on their family plan. This is bogus. If they try to say that, let them sign you up with a new number, then go home and call *2 and request your number.

Yea, a rep told me two weeks.....but of course it was a REP that told me that, so there's no telling. I hope it's only a week or two. Good thing about it is it gives me some time to read reviews and know for sure what to expect as far as all the possible cons.
I got screwed...Went to Best Buy and they only had 3 & 10 people were in line...I know I heard about it on here...but was hoping it was a rumor, I got my mom another phone b/c we are both due for updrages...and the guy who checks your reciept at the door on your way out, told me I should wait till they work out all the kinks, I was gonna go to A Corporate,....BUT I had my mind sent on paying just $200....So the lady at BB, told me she will call me on Tuesday b/c that should be when the next shipment comes in, OR I am considering waiting...I HAVE WAITED THIS LONG...Not sure if I should say SPRINT/PALM sucks for not delivering a decent amount of phones...SHRUGGINH MY SHOULDERS
I didn't get one yesterday despite being second one in line when my local store opened. Was lucky enough to get one today though and I'm posting from it now.
