    App Catalog Unavailable?

I doctored my phone then uninstalled a bunch of stock apps o:
Is the app catalog down or did I bone something?!

I believe the problem may be with the removal of SprintTV or it could be due to me installing most of my patches with WebOS QI.

Doctored the phone as I did no backups and a few of the apps are "hidden" someplace in the "ROM".
WBQI was only used to install Preware and filePackageManager.
All apps except SprintTV, that was removed previously, have been removed.
I'll keep this for a couple days testing the catalog and then remove SprintTV as a test.

Catalog is available for me. I have Sprint TV hidden. I am going to assume that you see an EVDO signal.

    I had EVDO and/or Wi-Fi.
I didn't hide SprintTV I actually removed it.

I don't know if it has some dependencies that crosses with the catalog.

Ah. I don't think there is any correlation; but, I am not absolutely sure. That is weird though I don't see how the app catalog would be dependent upon Sprint TV...

edit: I'll remove my Sprint TV and see what happens.

I don't know either but I've had all the same apps besides SprintTV removed before, as I do now, and the catalog worked.

It's eithe WebOS Quick Install doing something Nasty or something unseen with SprintTV. I'm leaning toward WOQI though ):

I have tried to delete the directory/file twice and it's still on my phone. Restarted Luna both times. I'll try a full reset but it doesn't look like my phone wants to get rid of Sprint TV.

it's not that easy. How are you even getting to the folder? O:

You have to make the filesystem writable: mount -o remount,re /
then you can remove: ipkg remove com.mobitv.app.sprinttv

this is after backing up: mkdir /media/internal/.backup
    cp -a /usr/palm/applications/com.mobitv.app.sprinttv/ /media/internal/.backup

I was trying to do it through WOSQI lulz. I haven't rooted into my pre with the new Mac I've acquired. BRB lemme see if i need to break out the old laptop.
meh if i screw up the OS i'll take a trip to the doctor.

You have me curious now I want to know if the App catalog is somehow reliant upon Sprint TV!

I got rid of it through the command line in WOSQI. File is off the phone and app catalog started up for me in about 10 seconds.

I just removed it myself. I use terminal on the phone. It takes a moment longer than any of the other apps I uninstaled.
I rebooted and launched the catalog twice downloading two free apps.
Last time the catalog only worked once before everything showed as unavailable or the program just "looped" on install.

WBQI may be the cause. I seem to have problems when using it for patches.

I haven't used QI for patches in quite awhile just because I don't to wait for the phone to refresh Luna every time when in Preware you can bulk add/remove patches and then refresh Luna when you are ready.

The newer versions doesn't restart Luna after each patch, except for a few.
I had a problem where it totally boned a Preware update and I had to doctor, this was the 1st time since then I used it to install patches.

App catalog still working for me.

lulz that tells you how long its been since I've used QI. Glad your app catalog is working.

I hope no one at work asks me to demo my sprint TV lol

    It sucks anyway :)

I just tried reinstalling and it's not as easy as removing. uh oh..

-edit: It DID work, sort of the SprintTV icon is back and it loads.
Not sure what I did as I got errors each time.

    • mount -o remount,rw /
    • cp -a /media/internal/.backup/com.mobitv.app.sprinttv/ /usr/palm/applications/
    • ipkg install com.mobitv.app.sprintv

After that errored I tried: ipkg install /usr/palm/applications/com.mobittv.app.sprinttv

Apparently just restore the folder to the correct location is enough to get SprintTV working again.

    Not Sprint TV

My app catalog just stopped working (12/24) too. My Pre is stock right now. I can view apps, but every time I try to download it immediately tells me that the catalog is unavailable. A bit odd considering my wife's is working fine.

A battery pull may fix that.
