Clear or AntiGlare Screen Protector from Boxwave, which would you get?

I have used Boxwave screen protectors for a while and they have been great. The go on easy, no residue, and clean up nice. Best of all no water to apply and can use your phone right away. They are finally coming out with screen protectors for the Pre.

My question is would you get AntiGlare or Crystal Clear for the Pre. I don't want to lose the clarity of the screen, but also don't want the glare, especially in bright places.

Here are the links to both.

    ClearTouch™ Crystal - Palm Pre

Please, I welcome your opinions on which type to get clear or anti glare.

Clear. The anti-glares I've tried doesn't really work and has a prismatic effect.

I'd vote for the crystal clear one myself. I'm too OCD to deal with the weird effects of the anti-glare kind. Plus, I haven't run into any instances with my Pre where it has been unreadable in direct sunlight and I have a "generic" screen protector installed that I cut to fit LOL

I bought a 3-pack of these, because you made them sound so promising. I'm actually really impressed with these. I tried the other skins that require you to use water to appy and i absoultely hated them. These Boxwave skins are very easy to apply and you don't to wait 24 hours either to use your phone. I went with the crystal skin and it looks awesome on my Pre. I was really against any of these skins previously, but since I had to turn my 1st Pre in and I got a new, I thought I'd try again. It looks very clean, no bubbles and the transperency is brilliant still. Good call on these....

Agreed. All my previous phones I've put anti-glare and it distorts the screen colors. "Prismatic" is a good way to put it.

Then I got jipped. I only got one screen protector in my pack. I ordered on June 25 and received it at the end of June. I love the protector for the Pre, but how come I only got 1 protector in my pack? I did get the crystal version.

Too bad I didn't read this thread before I ordered my BoxWave Screen Protector. I opted for the anti glare and am not happy with it--no glare but ruins the very crisp effect of that beautiful screen. I ordered 3 so will return the 2 unused ones and get the clear. Guess I'll search next time before I purchase!

Does anyone feel that the BoxWave screen protector is affecting the sensitivity of the touch screen. I am having difficulty highlighting and moving the cursor and am wondering if the screen protector may be the culprit.

I have seen the anti glare on a couple buddies iphones. I really like them it had a good feel, i didnt see any distortion on their phones, and it seemed like it resisted against oil and prints. does the clear resist against oil and prints also? I took off my invisible shield which is not at all invisible because u can see orange peel. I been looking for a new protector just want to get right one this time.

    Hi oundn,

I personally like the anti-glares screen protectors better than the crystals screen protectors. But for the Palm Pre, because it is curved and the screen is all one piece, I think that the cleartouch crystal would look better on it overall. iPhones are perfect for the cleartouch anti-glare because the screen is squared off.. If that makes sense.. The cleartouch is not as resistant to oil and prints, but it is easy to clean up with a couple swipes of the shirt. anti-glares have that texture which help hide oil/prints.

Hope that helps! Also some tips when installing any screen protectors:

    1. Be patient and take your time
    2. Put it on in a clean environment
    3. If you get dust on the screen side, use SCOTCH TAPE to grab it off your screen protector
    4. The instant you see a bubble, take it off before you continue to apply your screen protector.

Boxwave. Thank you for the info. I am 100% convinced myself to go with the cleartouch crystal. I just hate oil and thumbprints all over my screen but that's a part of it and easy to put up with when its the palm pre.

I was originally going to buy a Phantom Skinz screen protector until I saw this post. I am absolutely sold on this product. The fact it doesn't require water or having to wait 24 hours to use the phone is a huge plus. But best of all, they are reusable and can be removed and cleaned. I will definitely be picking one of these up for my Pre and one for my wifes BB Curve.

    Dont forget!

    1. Be patient and take your time (I would dedicate around 7-12 mins)
    2. Put it on in a CLEAN environment
    3. If you get dust on the screen side, use SCOTCH TAPE to grab it off your screen protector
    4. The instant you see a bubble, take push it out (with the applicator tool) before you continue to apply your screen protector.

    Some other ones:

    5. Align the screen protector before you peel off the side that adheres to the screen

    6. Remember the SCOTCH TAPE~

    7. For the Pre, start by attaching the screen protector from side with the circle button and slowly let it attach its self as you move up to where the ear phone side is.

    8. Not necessary (because a micro wipe is included) but I usually use a damp cloth to wipe the screen prior to installation.

    Cheers-

For what its worth, I've used cleartouches on all my phones.. if you install correctly you will be amazed! This is my second Palm Pre (Had to return the first one) but I'm using the same screen protector haha.

Just got my 3 pack from boxwave so I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Had a bad experience with the Seidio USG but I'm hoping after all the good reviews that these are better. Got the clear ones by the way.

Ok here's the update and review: Ok so I just finished applying the Boxwave ClearTouch screen protector. Each one actually comes with 2 guards. One is larger and covers most of the face and circles both the lower button and the earpiece. The other is a bit smaller and covers the immediate screen area and while still circling the button creates a "U" halfway up on the earpiece. Now I already have the Seidio Innocase on the phone and was very hesitant to remove it since I've heard of horror stories regarding broken tabs so I tried an install with the case on. Began with the larger guard. went on very easy and found it very forgiving as far as removing and reapplying to get the right orientation. Got it perfectly centered in a few tries. Material went on smoothly and what few bubbles that appeared smoothes out easily as well. The problem was with the edges, particularly the top edge. Since I had opted to apply with the case on the guard is just a hair longer than the case. Since I had started positioning from the bottom the top was hitting the case by about 1mm overlap, maybe less. It was enough through to not allow the material to sit well. I tried to push under the case but what resulted was me kinking the material, my fault not boxwave's. If I had taken off the case I would have had no issues. Tried a second time (good thing I got the 3 pack) starting from the top but then had the same issue at the bottom. So then I tried the smaller guard and it went on perfect. It covers the immediate screen up to half way on the earpiece and complete gesture area but has a sufficient a gap to not interfere with the case. The material is just like it says, crystal clear and flawless. It has the same feel as the real screen and no interference with the gestures. The included cleaning cloth and small plastic squeegee/applicator was definitely a nice touch and both are very usefull. I'm very satisfied with the results and would highly recommend. Let me know if you guys need any other info.

I feel like I got hosed. I only got one protector in my Boxwave Crystal Touch. I got the smaller one. I didn't get a choice. I got this back in June though. I wonder if they added a second one in July. The smaller one does work well with the Innocase though. But if I didn't use the case the bigger one probably would of been better. I wonder if I can call Boxwave and find out why I didn't get two screen protectors in my package.

By the way, I love Boxwave screen protectors. Been using them for years.

I tried these screens. I was very happy with them, except for that they aren't resistant to getting fingerprints and oils on them. But the clarity of the screens were great. I prefer using the smaller screen because it's less noticeable to me. The only flaw I see is that they get bends in them easily. Example: When you try to remove the screen to wash or replace, you can easily bend a corner trying to scrape it off...which causes the bend to be noticeable when you put the screen back on.

My smaller screen protector somehow got bends in the center while I was cleaning it, so not I'm using the bigger screen. The only problem I see with the big screen is that the edges don't stick enough for them to be unnoticeable. I wish I had ordered the 3 pack.

Does anyone know is the anti-glare screens are better at resisting fingerprints and oils?

From what I've read the anti-glare is less prone to finger prints because of the small ridges.
