Closing Keyboard too fast caused shutdown

Yesterday I kind of closed the keyboard abruptly and noticed my phone shut down. Once it restarted my keyboard ceased to work. After a few more restarts, the keyboard finally started working again. I am very cautious when closing the keyboard now. Has this happened to anyone?

I do it a lot and I've never had a problem.

Linux as good as it is is not a very stable system when Not shut down correctly. I think this is why it takes so long to both shut down and start-up the Pre.

The last thing it was doing was most likely closing the Keyboard App from shutting it and when the battery jumped it corrupted the keyboard.

A few resets will recover Linux and a Battery removal ( After it is shut down Never Hard with on) will help do a boot and get things in order.

So to stop this put a piece of paper to keep your battery tight or I used a small Ziptye and cut that to fit . This will stop the the resets all together from the start.

This would happen to me a lot especially the first day I got it. I searched the web but did not find others having this issue until today. I did re-seat the battery and since then it has not happened as frequent but nonetheless it does occur still. Its mainly when jiggling the slider while closing the keyboard. Seems like a contact or issue with is causing this. As the phone matures I will monitor this problem and if it becomes a nuisance I will defenatly exchange it.

This happened to me after I took the battery out on saturday when I was playing around with my Pre.

After looking for an answer online, I stuck a piece of paper to keep the battery from moving and it seemed to solve the problem.

A guy I work with bought a pre and had that problem. He took it back and they exchanged it and gave him a new one...
