I have two stores close to me with 11 each. tho i dont wanna drive to the compton one. Its a little further...... Looks like i will be walking away with one on launch day.

Thanks for posting! So, when I called the Best Buy near me on Tuesday, they told me that they were getting 3 of them. Now according to that list, it says they currently have 3 on hand, 3 on order, and 1 in transit. Perhaps they placed another order??

My local BB says 3 on hand, 3 on order, and 1 in transit. I assume that the first two = the same, and that they have one more coming in, for a total of 4?

I feel the exact same way! It will be all I can think about tomorrow. I even woke up this morning saying "Two more days!!!"

I think it means that they have 3 in stock, have 3 ordered, and 1 on the way.

So if they all arrive by Saturday, they should have 6 or 7.

Very cool if true. Thanks, I hope you're right. I'm still going to hit the Sprint store first. They're both within 5 minutes from eachother and the Sprint store opens an hour earlier than BB.. so yeah, I think I got a good chance. I don't think there are a lot of people in my area who even know how to operate a phone, anyway - the one perk of living in the south =P

There will be no Pre's at Houston Best Buy stores. The truck was hijacked when delivering to the Dallas Best Buy distribution center and all the Pre's that were to go to Houston will be distributed to Dallas Best Buy stores :tounge:

I just left my local (Cost Mesa, no. 119) BB store wherein I had an enlightening conversation with a well-informed rep. He told me that this was one of the few stores in the region that would have a live demo unit, but that he wasn't allowed to put it out until Saturday.

He looked up his "playbook" and confirmed that numbers will be handed out to line-standers an hour before opening.

I mentioned I had read that the store would get 18 units for sale and he called shenanigans. He told me that they were getting 8. When he saw my surprise he showed me the internal e-mail he had gotten showing quantities for the region. I asked him if I could take a blurrycam pic and he covered up his name for me. I'll edit this post and attach the pic in a few (on my netbook atm) even though I doubt it will add to the conversation. He went so far as to offer to print it for me, but changed his mind when he learned that I would likely blog the info.

I wandered around a bit and even composed this same e-mail in the store, then showed it to him to give him the chance to ask me not to.

"Well, I'd rather you kept me out of it, really."

After I closed the tab without submitting it he pulled a dummy unit out of his pocket! That thing is tiny. It's been said previously, and I thought I was prepared, but I was not. The keys aren't spaced too closely together for my taste (or fit), and the keys are gummy as has been said, but they don't protrude very much, they're almost flush. That, more than anything, will be the cause of my learning curve. I asked him how much that will sell for after Saturday. :wink:

I guess the best buys are all getting less than what we previously thought. It seems people on other forums have been going to their local BB, and finding out that the count that we all received is a bit off. In some cases way off. The stores seem to have ordered them but dont have them on hand. That SUX. Seeing as how i refuse to do an MIR. I sure hope there is no one out there Saturday morning when i arrive.
