    Error Sending Email

I used the search but couldn't find an answer.
I tried to send an email with a picture attached from within my phone. It never sent but did give me an error and told me that it didn't send. I figured OK, this phone doesn't do that yet and deleted the email out of the outbox. The problem is, I still get constant error messages from the same email (around 8-10 times a day). When I click on the error message in the gesture area, it takes me to the outbox where I have the yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it. I hit the triangle and it just tells me the last time the outbox was updated. Does anyone know how to clear this error? It's very annoying.

    Elen,
That's what I did the first time and thought that was the end of it. But the error keeps coming back (in my gesture area like a new email) and when I click on it, it takes me to the outbox. The outbox is empty but there's a yellow triangle in the upper right hand corner with an exclamation point in it. If I click on that, it only tells me what time it was updated.

I am having the same problem - I deleted an email that was being sent through an incorrect outgoing SMTP mailbox. Now I get the "notification" in the appropriate area also - but when you touch it - you go to the empty outbox. There isn't anything to delete with the little trash can. I did try to soft reset the Pre - no help.

I had the same issue before I got the correct outgoing server settings. I removed the account and re-added it. That fixed the problem.

I had the exact same problem yesterday. The error message would not go away. I finally gave up and decided to shutdown and restart the phone. To my surprise this cleared up the issue. Be prepared because restarting the phone takes a while.

I've tried the restarting the phone thing and it didn't help. I was getting it in good and bad coverage areas. I've deleted the email account and re-added it. I'll wait a little while and see if it comes back and let you know.

    The Saga continues...
I had the same problem described above and resolved it with the same solution which was to delete the account. I thought the problem was resolved but behold it resurfaced but with a twist.
I took some pictures at 10am on Saturday and sent two of them to two people. I assumed it was the end of it. Sunday night, I was checking my sent box on the desktop and noticed that this same email had been sent a whole bunch of times.

I had my wife log into her account, which I emailed them to, and yes she had a million of the emails in her inbox. I went to sleep and work up Monday morning and saw that it is still sending the pics at 4am.

I tried deleting this email account again like I did with the initial problem and it has been "Removing Account" for more than a hour.

OK, it's been about 4 days since I deleted my email account and set it up again. I haven't seen any errors since. That being said, I haven't tried to send any emails with pictures again yet, so....

Next time try deleting by swiping the error message to the right

    Hi All

I had the same problem...but just like emails and conversations you can get rid of error notices by swiping the error to the right when it shows up...WAAYY easier than resetting your email accounts :)

You don't know how many days I had that stupid thing come up before I realized that was probably what the Palm designers thought I would do naturally.

    Cheers,
    cburg

I didn't like the "delete and re-enter your email information" solution at all and I believe I found a proper solution to the "Error sending mail" problem and made a post about it with some illustrations that Pre users will hopefully find helpful and perhaps Palm will notice and fix the problem.

The post is here: How To Fix Palm Pre's "Error Sending Mail" Problem | beer planet
