    Facebook App Update.

So I was checking out the App Catalog and after many months there is an update for the native Facebook App for Palm. I have to say it's an upgrade from the original. There is no chat feature or background notifications.. but it definitely looks a lot better.. screenshots below...

    looks great

Is it missing something compared to other Facebook apps on other phones?

Looks great! Can't wait to get my phone! Just over a month til I get it. lol

It also found my "missing" photos. When I try to upload pictures - voila! There are my 162 photos as versus 32 in the "normal" Photo section.

    Missing?

Chat and notifications are the big ones for me. But also being able to have your friends list in order from a-z would be nice.

When I open Photos it shows only 32 photos. The other area shows an extra category (Total) that has 162 photos in it.

I cant understand why everyone is talking bout background notifications. If your signed up for SMS Notificaions on FB, you dont need the background notifications.
  8. nerelda New Member

True, but SMS notifications also can be costly if you don't have a big enough txt plan and get a lot of notifications. Not everyone wants to have a big messaging plan on top of the pricey cell bills we're already paying.

I guess your right. But most plans now include unlimited messaging. But how would the background notifications work anyway? wouldnt it still be some of text alert or something?
  10. nerelda New Member

With most apps, the background alert isn't really a txt message or anything that would go against a messaging plan. Background notifications can easily be done through the program/app itself, so no txt message is sent. Instead, it just stays in the background and checks for any updates, so to speak.

I hope this makes enough sense. If not, maybe someone else can help explain it better? :)

lol. It makes sense. I've seen with this WM, but I just didnt see how they could incorporate it into WebOS. They have a hard enough time giving us control over system alerts and text mesages alerts. lol
