Poor iPhone: Adobe needs full support from Apple beyond what is available through the SDK to enable Web browsing of Flash-based content on the iPhone. While we have been working hard to make the browser plug-in available, without increased co-operation from Apple, it will not be possible. Adobe is therefore focusing our development work on the major smartphone platforms that are working with us to deliver the most innovative and complete web browsing experience. With more than 85 percent of the top 100 websites using Flash and approximately 75% of all videos on the Web using Flash, we still believe that Flash on the iPhone would greatly benefit the millions of joint Apple and Adobe customers. http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashplayer10/
apple has some kind of flash converter coming out.. But who cares i'd say by the end of the month we will have a beta ... Swizeet
Actually, it's Adobe that's coming out with a work-around for Apple's shortcomings... [link:http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcs5/appsfor_iphone/] Yeah, I signed up this morning at about 10am Central time... hopefully I was early enough to get in!
I agree. All Adobe needs to see is demand; they know anyone with a phone wants Flash (i.e. Skyfire's growth) but if they see more demand then they thought, IMO they'll dish it out quicker and with higher standards.
I kind of like this idea, though - just sayin'... http://www.appleinsider.com/article...n_adobe_flash_heats_up_with_clicktoflash.html
Adobe usually does their upgrade cycles in 18+ month periods. From what I've heard reported, the end Q1 of 2010 is when Adobe is expected to drop CS5 [link:http://cs5.org/?p=136]
That info is updated now to CS5 2Q of 2010 http://cs5.org/?p=167 Adobe CS5 (Adobe Creative Suite 5) expected in the second quarter of next year.
