Have questions about the Palm Pixi? Ask in here I've got the Palm Pixi and will be working on a review this weekend. Not sure when it'll be completed, but shooting for Sunday or Monday at the latest. If you have any questions about the Palm Pixi, please feel free to ask here. I'll do what I can to answer them.
I know this is a stupid question, but I assume its touchscreen? I have seen any of the specs say touchscreen. Some people may not want a touchscreen device. Something Palm should consider.
Suggest to include the unboxing before the review There are a lot of European guys who would like to see Pixi from the beginning . Specially Germans, for what I can tell. Thanks
I just bought a brand new Palm Pixi today. I absolutely love it, but I have a couple issues that I thought you might be able to help me figure out. 1. In the calendar in my old Palm Centro, I was able to edit when I wanted my phone to alert me I had an event coming up (i.e., I requested an alarm to go off 2 hours in advance of the event). I can't figure out how to customize a time in the Pixi's calendar. The longest time is 1 hour in advance of the event and then it jumps to a full day. Any idea how to make it 2 hours or 90 min, for example? 2. I let it completely die before I charged it. Now it's charging with the phone off, but there's nothing on the screen (after the initial charging icon). I don't want to press the power button because I don't want to turn it back on. Is there a way to know its progress or when it's fully charged with it off? Thanks!
Question on alerts and want to make sure I am not missing something that is there but I just haven't found it yet... When the Pixi is in sleep mode, the screen is black. If a call or text comes in, a tone/vibrate/whatever will happen and the screen will wake to show icons. That is great. But what if I am away from my desk and don't see that first notification, how do I know there is a message waiting for me without having to constantly wake the phone to check? This seems like basic phone functionality 101, but I can't seem to find anything on this mentioned or explained. I mean come on, Blackberrry has this figured out as do most if not all other phones, so why doesn't Palm? There are ways this could be done fairly easily I would think, flash the keyboard or glow the sensor light in the swipe area... something that would tell a user to wake his or her phone because there is a message to act on. Just wondering if anyone else has come up against this one. thanks, Cory
for sure that's annoying about it not showing you anything when you have an alert. I agree it could be easily solved by flashing the sensor. In terms of custom alerts, my only solution was to manually put in an alarm in the Clock and just calling it whatever the event was in the calendar.
Sure, this is a way to notify you on something you have control over, but a message or call that you have no way of knowing when it would happen this of course is not an option. Here is another thing that the Pixi and I am sure the Pre does... if the phone is in sleep mode while Pandor is playing, the music goes on and you see a black scree. The minute a new song comes on, the screen half-wakes to show you the new song name, then it goes dark again. This tells me the Pixi is already able to do this and it just needs someone over at Palm to write the script that says flash message/call icon every 5 secs, 10 secs, whatever.... please Palm, just do it. thanks, c
New Palm Pixi I've been a Palm user for a few years...I just switched from Centro to Pixi...So far i'm loving it except one small feature. I am not finding a way to bring birthday from my contacts to my calendar? Does anyone know a trick? Bec
Hey. Do you guys know anything about TAKING OFF the annoying loud BEEP hangup noise on the palm pixi? How bout changing text message alert sounds? Thanks.
alright, question, I just got the pixi yesterday, Love it, BUT, it started getting really slow with opening the texting and contacts, and things of that sort. so I took it back, they switched it with a brand new one, had lots of trouble getting it up and started, I finally got it to start up and log in. Anyways, I had the BRAND NEW phone plugged into my car charger, grabbed the phone as I was getting out, and the screen went black. I tried turning it on, nothing, plugged it back in, nothing, plugged it into the wall, nothing, even after leaving it in for an hour and trying to turn it on, I still cant do anything with the phone now. I dont know what to do. . . . anyone to know what to do?
anyone know if I can use activesync to transfer my contacts from my Moto Q9c to my pixi. I synced my Q to my PC using activesync one last time to make sure I have all my contacts transferred to the computer. Now I just need a way to get them on the Pixi. Any suggestions??
lets take them one at a time. Rjb. The easiest and maybe worst way is to use Google Sync by signing into googles exchange server. That will copy all the contacts how ever it sometimes mangles some contacts that will need to be manually edited. Also some fields don't crossover, childrens names and such.
Sandy, if you haven't yet, I haven't seen it, start a thread explaining your specific problem. It should be a simple "enter you name and log-in credintials".
Joe. Take it back to the store and exchange it. rp16, there's no real way to do it but you can have google notify you of birthdays. Julias, the phone does indeed have missed call and message notifications. It shows up at the bottom.
I have followed all of the prompts and it says:"Server security certificate is not valid for smbserver.Seattle.Cordonselections.com" - I selected EAS as the server type, entered the domain, user name, password...
