I think Hotmail is F-ing with the phone big time. It destoys the battery, mine was running VERY hot until i removed it. I just set up Gmail to sync with Hotmail. Works great!

Does anbody know what is the optimal setting for preserving battery life when synced to hotmail: should i change the setting to get email as manual? I heard that getting with email right away from gmail is best on the battery...

The settings that r2xj posted work great. You must make sure that you enter all info correct.

It has nothing ot do with wifi. I can send and receive email on my notebook pc just fine. Can also do it using wifi on a windows mobile phone. I am having lots of trouble with this phone and windows live email. I can never get it to send emails with wifi and sometimes I can send using the sprint network. I can always receive but sending is a major problem right now even when I am using sprint. There is something iffy about the email program that needs fixing.

Hi, I am new to this community but was having the same issue with not being able to send email using my hotmail account. I found a simple solution, change your smtp port from 25 to 587, this really works. I already called Sprint to let them know so that when someone calls about the same issue, they can give them the answer right away. Try it and let me know if it works,
