    HOTSYNC alternative needed!!

So my dad and I bought the Pres saturday :)laugh3: got to love this beautiful piece of technology) however both my dad and I have for years used the old palms. And my dad doesnt really trust the whole "cloud" system. because frankly, a usb is much safer than a google server.

so is there any word on there going to be a DIRECT sync for the Pre any time soon. I'm just wondering so my dad will stop complaining to me about not being able to sync his old notes n etc.

(sidenote) im aware of Chapura's and Mark/Space's wifi syncs which are perfect for me but my dad's office runs on a T1 network, not wireless. so that doesn't help him.

so can anyone point me in the right direction for a "upcoming" direct hotsync app. (just want to know there is someone working on it)

I'm in the same boat as you two. So far I haven't heard of anything upcoming other than what you mentioned.

I'll keep my fingers crossed with you though.

I think I heard in an interview they don't want that feature anymore, or something along those lines.

It's 2009! No more wires, man.

There's a bunch of software out there to sync other phones with the computer when they don't have it built in. Just google "cell phone sync". I'm sure one or more of these packages do or ill support the Pre.

From what I can tell, there are several companies that will be releasing sync software like we're all use to. Here's just one example.
