How long should you charge the phone? Also when do you know it is fully done charging? I cant find anything about icons in the papers given in the box.

the little battery (with lightning bolt while charging) at the top right will turn green when it is fully charged. Also touch the upper right portion of the screen and it will give you your remaining percentage of battery life.

thank you! so should you keep it plugged in for longer since its a new battery or does it not really matter?

My rule of thumb is always have the phone off and give it a full charging the first time... Also typically you should let phones deplete and recharge full to get the full use of the battery

While I agree with doing this once, the userguide for the phone actually suggests keeping it topped off as much as possible.

I let my battery run all the way down and going to let it charge for at least 10 hours.

new lithium ion batteries work great, just charge it full and drain it, then fill it up again. after that I believe you should try to keep it fully charged when possible.

I don't know if charging it that long is really necessary. After about an hour of me letting it charge after a full drain it was completely charged. 10 is a bit excessive isnt it? Or does it help it to stay plugged in? I know some of my friends yell at me for having my phone plugged in when it is already fully charged, they said it hurts the battery, but I am not so tech savvy.

I've asked around before about running the battery down. Was told if you do it it's best to charge it for at least 10 hours if you can. But no leaving your phone plugged in after it's done charging will not hurt the battery. Now I have heard it can if you leave it plugged in for 24+ hours.
