Invisible Shield + Rocket Fish Case (Pics)

I ordered just the front screen skin from Invisible shield and it was mentioned by a user that it needed to be trimmed in order for the Rocket Fish Case to fit over it. I used the screen protector that came with the Pre as a template. Everything fits great and now my phone is fully protected

Where did you get the Rock Fish Case?

Got it from Best Buy for 20 bucks

The only thing I dont like about my rocketfish case is that sometimes when you open the phone it causes the volume buttons to be pressed down. This is almost automatic when I open the phone. I took it off today and just have the bestskinsever on it now.

That's odd, I have never had this issue before.

I am trying to do the samething right now I am having troubles trying to get the top clip on the screen to snap into place.. I am afraid to press any harded because I don't wanna mess up the screen or anything. Any tips?

Maybe I had a defective case or it wasn't shaved correctly. Also you can take them back to bestbuy if you break them. I took mine back rhe other day when the clip broke

u may have to trim the top of the shield a bit more

When i took off my case there was a portion of the case where it was rubbing against the phone and when little stuff got in there it caused little scratches like sandpaper. I just said F-it and got a skin and Im taking my rocketfish case back

UPDATE ON MY PRE....

OK so many of you have the rocketfish case as do I. I used to use it faithfully until I noticed that when stuff gets into the case (ie. dust) it leaves scratches the shiny surface of the phone. Kinda like sandpaper on the back and then i noticed a little bit where the case was pressing against the phone it buffed the shinyness off the phone back. So I switched to a BSE skin but soon got tired of the rippled, rubbery feel so I switched to phantomskinz and like that. But when I went out today and played with my phone in the sun today I noticed that all around the edge of the phone where the rocketfish case clips to the phone there were stress lines like what you would see if two pieces of plastic were glued together and started coming apart. I think this is due to the case. Anyone else have this problem. I took the phone back and got a new one and put another phantomskin on it and everything is perfect and my wife never had the rocketfish on hers and hers is fine but she has a phantomskin on it.

Seems that the rocketfishes tight grip on the screen stresses the resin that is used to glue the two screens together and causes them to separate. Someone else check with their phone that have the rocketfish case. Let me know.

PS I am taking the rocketfish back to the store tomorrow since I didnt have it on me today.

Uh dude....what is that THICK acrylic plastic case you have on your Pre? Doesn't that prevent you from actually TOUCHING the screen or the gesture area??? I'm confused....it's a touch screen phone....how can you put a thick plastic case around it? What am I missing?

I use a skin called Gadget Guard it fits nicely on the Rocket Fish and other color faceplates. It is similar to the Invisible shield but thinner.

That THICK acrylic case? It doesn't cover the screen. Also, the Invisishield barely impairs the touchscreen's "magical powers" as if its not there at all. Focus, Daniel-san. No one's stupid enough to completely cover a touchscreen with a hard case. Welcome, by the way.

has anyone had a problem with there phone overheating and shutting down with the black rocketfish case?

NOPE. No problems with mine and I have a Rocket Fish as well.

Spare me the sensei routine...

The point is that I'm pretty sure there are at least two different Rocketfish cases for the Pre. One is very hard-shell acrylic/polycarbonate and the other is thinner and lighter. It looks like you have the former, but we can't tell from your photos.

Which case do you have exactly??? It would help people to know what case you're even talking about here. Most people would choose the thinner, lighter, more flexible Rocketfish version over a heavy, thick acrylic case...more info dude.

I have a thin black one that fits really good over my clear skin that seems to work well. No issues on overheating but I do change my case with a colorful case made by a different MFG Model. I like colors so I do this every so often. I had my PRE on the Rocketfish for 4 weeks straight with no overheating issues. It does get warm sometimes when I pull it off the charger but thats it. Hope that helps any. By the way, the Rocketfish does not cover any gesture areas or front screen like some say they do. It fits perfect comparing to many that I have purchased. I have purchased a lot since we have a few Pre users in my family.

I've used the Rocketfish case with the Invisible Shield since July. I noticed after a month that the front side of the case had a stress line in it, and started to split. I returned it to Best Buy and replaced it with another. 1 month later, the front side of the case is splitting again, this time in a different area.
