Is It Worth It to Switch to Sprint for the Pre? My wife had sprint about 8 years ago and we weren't too happy with the service. Is the Pre worth making the switch from another carrier to Sprint? How many people have the Sprint? Is it worth it to switch just to get the Pre? Any news on how easy it is to unlock it? Raza Imam
from all we've heard and seen so far, it is more than worth it... if you're not a gamer (there's iphone for that) and care more about productivity and simplicity from a mobile phone, it is by far the best and by 1,000 miles from any mobile phones....
It depends on where you are. Here in Los Angeles, they are generally good with coverage. I would check up with friends or neighbors in your area that have Sprint and talk to them about how they like it.
Sprint is not the same company they were 8 years ago. They've improved a ton. My advice: try out the Pre. You can always cancel within 30 days if you're not happy.
I have been with sprint for over eight years, and I can tell you that since your departure the Coverage as well as the Customer Service support is now much batter than at any other time... Every carrier is going to have dead spots and since not even Verizon really has a guy walking around saying "Can you hear me now?" :geek: - you are going to get about the same signal coverage in most major cities (now you may want to check if you live in a more rural area. Let's face it, All the major carriers give you about the same bang for your buck, its just how they package it and present it...
Sprint's worth trying for ANY phone, let alone a Pre. Their data network is superior to everyone else's and their customer service has actually improved a ton in the last year. Their crackhead pricing for calling plans don't hurt either. lol.
My wife and i stopped using Sprint about five years ago for that very same reason. I just switched back to Sprint about a week ago because of the Pre. The service is ten times better. I will suggest that if you need assistance with anything Sprint related use their chat service for support! It holds them accountable for everything that is discussed, you also recieve an email for you discussion.
I agree with the service of Sprint now being much better. I was a sprint customer as well, around 8 years ago. To me it was, then, just average. I went to Cingular (now AT & T) They had pretty good customer service at the time, but it seemed to grow worse as they turned Cingular over to AT & T, plus I wasn't getting good reception, particularly indoors. After a few years with AT & T, i switched back to Sprint. Now, when I call Sprint Support, it seems like there is NEVER a wait time, my cell phone signal is always clear, very clear indoors (i suppose because CDMA uses different band?)..but either way, it just works. I have friends that are subscribers to a company that starts with V and rhymes with Horizon, and I hear that V horizon NEVER negotiates billing mistakes..sorry If I'm wrong - I'm sure V horizon is great..But. When I call sprint and if I have a question or problem with my bill, they don't even hesitate to fix it, or even credit my bill. It's very polite and professional of them. You can trust Sprint as a loyal company as I am always referring my friends, turning them into happy customers as well. DO IT!
