Meet the “Tasks” app on the Pre

Someone was asking earlier to see how the Tasks app worked on the Pre since it hadn’t been shown before and I am nothing if not accommodating. [IMG] Below is a brief overview of what you can expect. Enjoy!
After tapping on the “Tasks” icon from the Launcher, you will come to a screen like this. Maybe not exactly like this because this Tasks app has already been populated with a couple of lists, but you get the idea.

If you want to create a new list, you tap that button on the bottom left corner and you will be greeted with a screen that looks like the following picture. There you can name your list and right below the name, start adding tasks to be done by tapping the button on the bottom left corner.

You check off items as you complete them and this is what a list looks like once completed.

If you’ve gotten your things done and would like to add something else to the list, not a problem. Just tap that bottom left button again and type away.

Need to edit something you’ve done? Maybe copy and paste? Maybe mark all as completed or unmark them all. Couldn’t be easier. Simply tap on the top left corner where you see “Tasks” and the application menu will come up, giving you all sorts of options.

And that is the “Tasks” app, my friends. Simple yet incredibly useful and above all, so easy to use!

I really love these app reviews! Thanks for posting them. I like the multiple lists functionality. So now I can have a shopping list that is separate from my home improvement list. I have "sort of" gotten around this with categories but talk about a more elegant way of addressing the shortcomings of a previous operating system.

I have never touched an iPhone. Can't say how they deal with this stuff. I bought my first Palm Pilot in order to ditch a paper-based Daytimer. The 4 primary app's: calendar, contacts, tasks and memos are really the ones I use the most. Now, my Treo does so much more, it's a wonderful device.

The Pre is a Treo on steroids with style!

Do you have any Shots of the app store, or the input screen for adding new contacts... what sort of info can we enter? like b-days and anniversaries? and home addy and work addy??

That's nice but no real advance on the task list that was on my Palm PDA. What I;m looking for is more of a GTD app. I'm sure I'm not the only GTD'er who wants a PRE.
