Need Help With WiFi In Europe

Hey guys. I'm in France and I'm having trouble with my wi
fi. I am getting hooked up to wireless networks with no problem, but I can't access any websites. When I put a URL in, all I get is a blank white page. If I hit the refresh in the lower right corner, the wheel goes round and round, but nothing happens. This occurs whether or not i am using a native web site like Google or any other web site.

Why should this happen if I am getting hooked up to the networks with no trouble. It is happening in my hotel, where I am writing this (my laptop works just fine) on any other hot spot, like McDonalds or Starbucks.

BTW - my IPod touch hooks up and works just fine also.

Can anyone give me some guidance here? I'm going to be here another 2 weeks and it would be nice if my Pre would let me get on the web.

BTW - before I left, my Pre wi-fi was working just fine and I was able to get on the web whenever I wanted to.

Please don't suggest that I turn on the wi-fi (it's on, I can assure you)[ or that I turn off airplane mode (it's off)

    Thanks for any help.

Turn off airplane mode as is disables the wi-fi too. q:

Acually yiu may be running into a "bug" IIRC the phone uses Sprints "proxy" or DNS even when on wi-fi.

Maybe it won't resolve the addresses in Europe as it's was no intended to be used there.
