New app: POCKET MIRROR sync your outlook calendar says it was in the app store yesterday didnt see it then, looks great! since i have been waiting for this!!!!
yeah I just wish it would sync the ones that are on my google calendar already, it works great, only thing I don't like is that I have to turn my wireless on to sync it, but then again, i could just do that everynight before I shut my eyes.... i guess it beats haveing to log onto google everytime i need to use it! was just thinking turning wi-fi on is 100% better then having to plug it in like my wife does
Why not run GoogleSync and do a one way synch from Google to your Outlook and then use PocketMirror to Sync back to the Pre? It seems like that ought to work.
Wanted to come back and post this on this thread...I posted it over on the other PocketMirror thread too, but I did want to share this info in case any one else was/is having similar problems and can find it useful! ***************** I downloaded and used PocketMirror this afternoon and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I didn't want to have to use Google, I have everything just the way I want it already in my stand alone Outlook Client (We use Pop3 mail) and my calendar and contacts both synced BEAUTIFULLY, in both directions. I tested it by adding an event on my laptop's Outlook and also one on my Pre, synching between each one. Perfect. It fixed 2 big problems in one fell swoop: 1) Contacts- at the Sprint Store, they supposedly transferred all my contacts from my Curve (which synched w/ my home Outlook)- however, upon closer examination at home, all that transferred was phone numbers- not even emails and certainly not street addresses. When I ran PocketMirror, ALL my contacts are now correct, whether they have multiple phone #s, multiple emails, web addresses, etc. And Street Addresses synced as well. 2) Calendar and synching w/ events created on the Pre- It also creates a Calendar called Outlook in the installed calender accounts and allows it to be set as the default calendar, as opposed to when I had ran GoogleSync and then added the google calendar...it never allowed me to set anything other than the Palm Profile Calendar as the default calendar and so I couldn't put new events/appts into the Google Calendar from the Pre. Now I can set my Outlook as my default Calendar and it synchs both ways and it's ALLLL GOOOD. I am really, really happy about it and for sure will be paying for it once the beta is over and they start charging!
Paying for it??? did'nt know that they might be charging for it! as far as syncing it to my google calendar, how do I do that? and I use to use windows live mail on my desktop, does anyone have a dang clue how to export my contacts from windows live mail to my outlook??? Thanks in advance
There is a Google Application that will sync your Google Calendar to your Outlook Calendar. You can download it here (among other places, but this is one spot you can get it) http://google-calendar-sync.en.softonic.com/ Once you install it, you can choose to sync 2 ways or one way. To get the stuff you added into Google back onto your Outlook, run it to sync FROM Google TO Outloook. Then, once that is done, tell PocketMirror to synch w/ the Pre and it should put them on the Outlook Calendar on the Pre. If you want to not use Google at all from that point on, you can open the accounts/ preferences section of the calendar and remove the Google Calendar entirely and set the Pre's default calendar to Outlook. Then synching between the Pre and your computer's Outlook should be all you need. I was only using Google b/c PocketMirror hadn't been released yet. Hope this makes sense and helps! Oh- as far as the cost- this application has been available for PalmOS for a while, now, and costs $29.95. The version for WebOs is in beta (testing period) and right now, is free. I fully expect that eventually if you keep using it, that there will be a fee to purchase the app. Whether or not early adopters like us will get a discount, who knows? But I'd gladly pay 30 bucks to save me the hassle of using Google as a go-between. And I don't use Windows Live Mail, but did find this tutorial on how to export contacts: http://www.freeemailtutorials.com/windowsLiveMail/addressBooksAndContacts/exportContacts.htm
Okay i synced google and outlook together, but now everything that was in my google is on my outlook (which is what i wanted) but now they both show up in my phone... showing booth google and outlook and that is pretty annoying how do I get only one showing?
I did not like this app. If i had started off with this, and not transfered my contacts earlyer this would have been amazing. Instead, it added yet another entry under the existing contacts, and made new entries where it couldn't find a contact. Personally did not work for me, and did not 2way sync...

nevermind, got it working, damn beta Windows 7 64-bit. I had to trick the program to think it was running Vista and make sure Outlook 2007 was closed before syncing..
Pocket Mirror sync with Outlook Currently PocketMirror for WebOS does not support syncing at more than one computer. Please email support@chapura.com requesting a feature be added to pocket mirror to sync to more than one computer. If they get enough requests maybe they will
okay i'm confused. I had my calendar setup to go outlook to google to pre, but wanted to skip the middle step. Are you saying that you cannot setup Outlook Exchange calendar directly (without 3rd party software like pocket mirror?) I've been having challenges getting it setup and am thinking this may be the problem!
Here is what I did to stop multiple contacts - Synced Google and outlook using Google's sync -then Synced my phone to Google -did not sync my phone to pocket mirror, because it is a beta right now, and they will eventually sell it! -so when I add something to my Calendar on my phone, it will add it to Google, and my Google sync will add it to my outlook. - when I and an event to my outlook it will sync with Google and Google will sync with my phone that way its not doubling events on my phone. its a match mad in heaven... ANYONE ELSE DO IT THIS WAY???
I'm using Outlook at work, but it would be nice to have a way for my wife to add things via Google or something else and have everything sync up nicely. And to add to the fun, my laptop runs Office 2003 (XP), my desktop runs Office 2007 (Vista) and we have an iMac at home. What do you all suggest?
1. Use PocketMirror to sync your outlook calendar. 2. Have your wife enter calendar items in your google calendar. Each will appear with different colors on your Pre. Richard
When I first ran the Chapura pocket mirror I was getting a synch failed error message. I contacted Chapura late last night, they responded early today in an email. "We have a posted a new "Special" of build of PocketMirror. Download and install this version. If it does not resolve your errors, it may generate a better log message to help our developers solve your problem: http://www.chapura.com/PM13889/CpSyncMgr.exe If you still have problems, please reply with the current log from your computer. " So I downloaded the special build tonight, installed it on my pc, ran it and everything synched perfectly. So if anyone is having trouble with the pocket mirror, you will want to give this build a try. Hope this is of help to people.
