OEM Pre headset So has anyone actually been able to use the headset while fondling the Pre? It ships with a stereo headset but often times OEM ones are pure junk. *cough* iPods *cough* It would be cool to actually get some headphones that you can actually listen to music with without the tunes being mushy all the time. If not, I guess I'll be ordering some aftermarket Shures or something. At least the Pre has a 3.5 mm jack.
For that matter, does anyone know what STYLE the headphones are. I'm sure they'll be in-ear types, but I have weird ears that won't hold standard earbuds. I have these and I like them alot, so if the Pre ones aren't similar I probably won't use them.
I personally hope that if Palm does package a set with the Pre, that will be the regular style earbuds. I hate in-ear headphones.
With the 3.5mm jack Just throw out some money and get a nice pair of bosse headphones or a cheap pair of Skullcandy headphone (really good for the price:wink.
http://www.palm.com/us/products/accessories/stereo-headset.html My guess is, since these are listed under Pre accessories, that they will be the ones included.
Magnet idea is nifty. I personally prefer in-ear phones though. I guess I'll be using my noise cancelling Phillips ones.
Those look like they'll be even more uncomfortable than OEM iPod speakers. But I'll give them a chance...
i have my Shure i2c headphones waiting for the Pre! originally bought it for my hp netbook for skype calling but had the Pre in mind when i bought it.
no headphones included I just saw the video posted earlier today with Bonnie Cha of CNET opening up the package. no headphones are included, although it does come with a charger.
oops I am wrong wired headphones are included. she just barely mentioned them and I am fighting a cold - not paying close attention
Her review was organized, but she belongs behind a desk, not in front of a camera. Her presence has a lot to be desired.
Magnets! So THAT'S what those little silver buttons are. Clever! Now if only someone could come up with a way to organize the cables when I throw them in my purse
OMG, thats so cool! The headphones are actually kind of nice. I'm not an audiophile but it just sounded pretty crisp....or maybe its the pre! but i have s9-HD and realized there is a lot of static so i am using both now. but magnets!!! yah, we need a case or winding thing still.
Functions on Headset Not sure if many people have gotten to mess with the headset...but there's pretty cool functions on it. 1. The ear pieces are magnetic so that they stay together when you're done with them. 2. Clicking the button near the neck part once will pause music/answer phone call. Click again after about 3 seconds if you want to resume music. 3. Double click the button to go to next track...my favorite! 4. You can talk into the BUILT-IN MICROPHONE on the opposite side of the button. This is the perfect headset for the Pre because it is able to multitask just like the Pre. I think overall they are great headphones. All my iphone user friends were very impressed with my Pre, and the sound quality of the headset. It seems like every day so far I'm finding more new things about my Pre. It has not stopped amazing me! Some things I've found that weren't in the manual. - Upward swipe, starting from silver button, up to the top of the screen...will open Applications Screen. - Downward swipe from top of screen to bottom silver button will close the Application screen. - Copy/Paste is described in one of the "Help" topics. Don't try to figure it out on your own...watch the video! After you see how to do it from the video then it's a piece of cake! - Rearranging Applications and Changing Quick Launch Apps: In Application menu, press and hold an Application...when you see a bubble around it you can drag it around. Same thing with the Quick Launch Items. Press and Hold, then drag out onto Application Screen, and you can drag a different application into your Quick Launch bar at the bottom. If I remember some more things I'll post them...
Thanks Eclipse!! I had ignored the headphones.. because headphones that came with my other sprint phones were crap... but I'll take a second look at these guys. Also, thanks for the tip about copy/paste, ive been having trouble so i'll take a look at the video.
I had no idea the things had a built in mic! It's been kinda sketchy here and the make my ears hurt after a while and there, but it's better than holding the phone up to my head for 45 minutes on hold all day.. They'll do till I get my new http://www.amazon.com/Sonorix-Bluetooth-Headset-Removable-Earphones/dp/B000V1UGZ2 . Be careful with it, though. if you click it you'll hang up the call that you're on! (Oops!)
I use it almost exclusively. With this headset, I experienced for the first time (wired or Bluetooth) that I could drive in my truck with all the windows down, the radio gently playing, on M Street in G'town (LOT’s of foot traffic=noise) and have the other person hear me completely clearly and vice versa. I hadn't heard about it before the Pre's launch and figured it couldn't be out of the box noise cancellation headset, but it does just that. I'm sold...just going to try to find an extension that will continue to allow me to use the button.
NICE! I had no idea that the headset had a built in microphone! I just tested it out while changing my voicemail greeting....you have to speak up a little for it to pick you up...but if you hold it in front of your mouth the sound quality is great. My voice came out crystal clear in my voicemail greeting! IF YOU ARE OVERLOOKING YOUR HEADSET THEN STOP! Too many people are just putting the headset aside because they are assuming that they are just basic headphones. You can answer/end a call with these. You can pause/next track music with a single click or double click You can TALK INTO THE MIC that is built in on the opposite side of the button! AND the sound quality on calls and for music it great! These headphones are a great piece of accessory to go with your Pre.
