Pre charger & Kindle charger - interchangeable?

I have a new Pre and a fairly new Kindle (2.0). They both have micro USB chargers, quite similar in concept (micro to USB to plug). Can I use them interchangeably? I know Palm has all these dire warnings about using other chargers, but c'mon - they're both small devices which must need roughly the same amount of power, right? Anyone know how I can verify the power coming out of both?

If you do test it, please let me know. I have both, but haven't wanted to plug the Kindle Charger into the Pre (or vice versa) to test. :)

The only thing you need to be concerned with is Pin configuration.

As most item can be charged with a computers USB they should be standard 5v .5amp for an Ok charge.

Most AC adapters will be in that to the 1amp range (the Pre is 1amp) so just check your charger for that info and hope the Pins are configured the same . i know with some Mini Usb the pins are different and can cause issues like for GPS models .

So far so good - have charged 2 nights w/ Kindle charger and phone is working well. Also, battery life dramatically improved by turning off location services (which I don't use most days anyway).

I purchased IGo adapter from Radio Shack for my Kindle. I went in recently to inquire if it would also be compatible with Pre and they said any micro usb is compatible - all are interchangable. If Radio Shack said so it must be right!
