problem with 1x sending calls to voicemail

when ever my pixi is sending info over the 1x connection, all incoming calls are sent to voicemail. since i live in an area just outside of ev-do coverage, it happens all the time. any solutions or suggestions? thanks - Matt

I'm having the same issue too. Even though I got full EvDO where I'm at (Brooklyn), I set my Pixi to stay on 1x while I figure out if the rumor that the sluggishness of the Pixi is due to some issues of the EvDO radio with the Qualcom chip. The Pixi's been a bit zippier since restricting it to 1x, but, yeah, it looks like a lot of calls aren't coming through when listening to Pandora or surfing on Scoop.

actually this is normal. Voice calls are carried on the 1x connection. EVDO is strictly data (Evolution Data Optimized). So if the 1x connection is being used for data then voice can't be used. CDMA does not support simultaneous voice and data. When in an EVDO area all data is carried through the EV "signal" and 1x is still open to receive calls.
