    Screen Protector 2, Me 0

Well I went 0/2 while trying to put a screen protector on. Any tips would be appreciated as i have a few more to try. One of the issues Im having is that both times I have managed to get some kind of film or something on the sticky side of the protector. Is that from touching it with my fingers perhaps? Is it something that would go away as it dries? it doesn't seem to be water but I could be wrong. Another problem I'm having is with the tabs on the sides. Not only do I find it hard to get them to line up without overlapping anything but i seem to get air pockets at the corners where the sides meet the tabs. Any Ideas? with two left I a debating cutting off the tabs and just putting it on front screen portion witout any sides. Lastly I am getting some kind of pockets (water perhaps?) between the protector and the screen. Would these dry out over time? Thanks for any tips.

I have been installing film on cars for years and the best tip I can offer is have someone who know what they are doing do it. If not here is what I tell others and it has had many good results returned with a thanks.

    1. Set aside a day that you do not need your phone or do it at night before you go to bed.
    2. Start with a clean phone just wipe with a clean damp mocrofiber is best.
    3. Clean your hands again.
    4. Get a coffee cup of warm water add 1 drop of Johnson's baby shampoo mix.
    5. Dip you fingers in and peel back 3/4 of the backing paper.
    6. Lightly wipe the sticky side of the protector film with water shampoo solution.
    7. Place in position on the phone and with a rubber squeegee OR credit card covered with microfiber or worst case credit card covered with paper towel (at least 3 layers). Gently squeegee water solution out from under film till it sticks to the phone.
    8. Once done lightly dip fingers again and wipe remaining side with solution.
    IMPORTANT!!!
DO NOT PULL UP ON REMAINING PORTION OF THE FILM YOU WILL LEAVE A PULL LINE CREASE, YOU WILL HAVE TO COMPLETELY REMOVE THE FILM AND POSITION ALL OVER AGAIN TO REMOE THE LINE. DO NOT TOUCH THE STICKY SIDE OF THE FILM UNLESS YOUR FINGERS ARE WET WITH SOLUTION. THE OILS IN YOUR FINGERS WILL STICK TO THE FILM'S ADHESIVE AND NOW WILL BE GARBAGE.

    9. Gently squeegee remaining side down making sure to not leave any bubbles and let dry overnight.

Should be perfect. If not remove and try again making sure your fingers are wet.

I put mine on last night with success (which is amazing because I have NO patience, thank God for beer lol). The side tabs were the most difficult. I laid my pre on a dry paper towel with everything set up around it like an operating room. Another tip is to have a couple q-tips handy to dab any excess water from any of the openings like the speaker, camera, mic, etc.. As for the tabs, I gave them a few minutes to dry a little as after applying the squeegee, you can imagine they get very wet. Once they dried off a bit, it was just as simple as pressing them down and letting everything cure. Now my only problem is the the pre sticking to the inside of the pouch it came with lol.

Well I think I may have gotten it. I followed the steps from the first reply, however I think equally important were your contributions as well. The Q-tip was priceless, as was the few beverages I enjoyed before hand as well. This time was different in that I must have tried like 10 times before I had everything lined up right and made sure there were no smudges. I still had a little bit of difficulty with the tabs but I think they came out well. I am a perfectionist so it has to look again. Thanks again to you and Monstercoatings as well! I would take a picture however my camera is my phone!

    Video applying screen protector

In attempting to find the best screen protector, I found an e-bay seller had a link to a You-Tube video, that showed step by step, a method he uses for applying a screen protector to an iPhone 3g. Turns out there are several how-to videos for various screen protectors on You-Tube.
