Solved - Moving Icons to/from Quick Launch Bar & Panes

The "Quick Launch" bar or "Desktop" by default holds
    1) Phone
    2) Email
    3) Contacts
    4) Calendar
    5) Launcher

It can hold a MAX of 5 items. If you want to change what's on there, you must FIRST remove one of the icons and THEN replace it with another. This has to be done in two steps.

TO REMOVE an icon from the Quick Launch
    1) Open the launcher to the pane in which you want to drag the old icon OFF of the Quick Launch
    2) Tap and hold icon until it lights up around the icon
    3) Drag the icon to the pane you selected

This will leave 4 items remaining on the Quick Launch bar.

TO ADD an icon to the Quick Launch
    1) Navigate to the pane in Launcher which has the icon you want to put on the Quick Launch bar
    2) Tap and hold icon until it lights up around the icon
    3) Drag the icon to the from the pane to the Quick Launch bar

    BONUS:
It's kind of tricky to move icons from one pane to another. Although you CAN tap-hold-and drag icons from one pane of the launcher to another, it takes a couple of tries. If you CAN'T move icons from one pane to another in the launcher, simply remove 1 icon from the Quick Launch and use that as a "Holding Place" temporarily to hold the icon while you navigate to the new pane and then drag it off of the Quick Launch into the new pane.

    Hope this helps!

Has anyone figured out how to increase the amount of icons on the quick launch or are we capped at 4? B/c I have not been able to remove the launcher icon which I feel is useless considering there is a gesture??

it wasn't obvious at first but you can move icons to different pages. on bottom corners, you'll see dashes representing how many pages forward or back you have...drag the icon to the dashes of the next or previous page and you can do that. i moved device info to first page to check battery.

    i didn't realize there was a 3rd page of 'settings' till 12 post-pre....wow, i was floored :-P

I signed up to this message board looking for exactly this information. Why wasn't this information included in the booklets?

Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now to figure out how to get that Nascar app off...

You can also see battery % remaining by tapping the very top right corner of screen where it shows signal strength.

for some reason tapping that isn't so responsive or if you miss a spot it won't open so i got annoyed and tried using the device button....but now its too slow loading so i went back to what you said. thought it mite be just mine but i guess since the battery icon is so small, you have to be dead on. ugh, this battery is draaaaaining as i type :-P
