As anyone thought of the possibility that not every store will be getting the same number of phones due to lower demands in certain markets. which may or may not cause your local store to recieve different numbers. Im sure they want to sell out nationwide to generate some hype and get people to come see what the fuss is about. So it would stand to reason that stores in smaller markets wont be getting larger shipments

One thing I haven't heard in all the rumor-mongering and speculation about the reasons behind the low supply of Pre phones for launch... maybe they haven't been able to make enough of them before launch date.

It takes a long time to work the major bugs out of a device, find someone with the capability of building it, set up a factory and manufacturing equipment and process to build it, design and manufacture packaging, arrange shipping, etc. for any device. Any number of monkey wrenches can throw that whole process into disarray.

Think about it. It would be a huge slap in the face to diehards to not have it done by the end of first half 09 after not announcing a release date for almost five months, so they would have pushed forward despite low inventory. I think lower-than expected number of finished devices is the only logical reason Sprint canceled the Premiere customer launch parties. They wanted to have enough devices for all users on launch day.

Unintended, but I realized it fit so I rolled with it.
