    T-Mobile user looking to switch

Here's my situation and I hope some of you can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have a T-Mobile family plan that's billing cycle will end on the 25th. I'd like to switch to Sprint and get the Pre.

How would/should I go about making this switch? Are my only two choices to terminate the service on May/June 25th? If I were to terminate on June 25th, would I still be able to sign contracts with Sprint and use the same phone numbers before then?

I also work for a company that is eligible for plan discounts. Do I need to bring anything into the Sprint store at the time of sign up in order to receive the discounted rate?

Again, any help would be great. Thank you!

As far as transferring your number you dont want to cancel tmobile before you go to sprint. Go the sprint store and make your account but bring your account number and pin number so that they can transfer your number.

also if you do want the pre you can always get a phone the 25th and return it on the 6th because its within your 30 days!

Yes, but doesn't the $199 rate on the Pre require a 2-year contract?

^^yeah do that and tell the Rep at Sprint you want to port your number from T-Mobile.
Why wait until the billing cycle ends? The account should be prorated for the time used if you were to cancel it on the June 6th to get the Pre. Try calling T-Mobile Customer Service and see what they say about terminating an account before the billing cycle ends. You could make the argument as to why you would have to pay the full price of a month's service when you would be ending the contract 19 days before the cycle completes.

Yes it does, or else you will pay some crazy amount to get it without a contract. Wouldnt you be getting a 2-year contract anyway if you get rid of T-Mobile??

Yeah, I just talked to my friend about it and I should get a prorated bill. June 6th here I come!

This was in response to a previous poster's suggestion of getting a Sprint phone and contract on May 25 and returning the phone on June 6.

Anybody have ideas/suggestions or know what to do about taking advantage of my company's plan discount benefit?

PM me the company name and I'll look up the CORP ID and you just tell the sprint rep who you work for and give them the CORP ID and they should be able to apply the discount right then. as for getting the phone on the 25th and exchanging it out on the 6th, i wouldn't recommend doing that because sprint now charges a $35 restock fee on all 30 day exchanges, and there may be a chance that sprint won't allow exchanges for the pre when it launches. they did this for the instinct when it launched. or at least my store/s did. if any other sprint/3rd party employees want to clarify this please do. because I'm not sure if it was sprint-wide or just my company.
