    Tochstone Hacks?????

I bought the dual touchstone kit from the EverythingPre store for $109. So I have two touchstones, the cover and a extra cord with adapters. Great price.

Well, I wanted to Touchstones so I could have one at work and one at home. But what I didnt know until this morning is that that Touchstone can charger via USB from my computer. THAT F'ing BLOWS PALM!

They need to give and update or something that will allow USB charging via Touchstone.

    Did anyone else know this?

    1. Check the charging dock connections:
      1. Make sure the USB cable is firmly connected to the AC adapter. The charging dock does not work when it is connected to a computer.
      2. Make sure the AC adapter is connected to a power outlet.
      3. If the power outlet is connected to a light switch or power strip, make sure the power is on. [IMG]
      4. Make sure the USB cable is fully seated in the charging dock:
        • The slanted side of the charging dock and the silver dot on the cable should be facing up.
        • You should see no more than 2mm (1/16”) of black between the silver dot on the USB cable connector and the charging dock.
        • You may need to rock the connector on the USB cable gently to fully insert it.

    Hacks?

Anyone know a way to stop the the Touchstone from Charging the Pre when the battery is full?

Dont want to burn my battery out from overcharging

yeah, i don't think that will change. There is just not enough electricilty to power the Touchstone via USB.

The phone should automatically stop charging as all devices, good ones at least, do.

Now the only way the TS can know that it's connected to a computer is by the data pins. Find a way to "cut" them and I'd be surprised if it didn't then charge.

But. Max.swell makes a good point. The USB might be limited to 500mAH.

Can it be powered by a USB car lighter plug?

If you're talking about the car charger, then yes. I have one hooked up to my car charger and use it daily. :)

no problem! Make sure you have a good car charger too. Some of the third party ones don't give enough power.
