Absolutely hate it. Every single message sounds illiterate. Keyboard is also cheap and plastic-y. Definitely switching phones.

I got my 3rd palm pre today after having these issues on my second starting up about a week or so ago. It got to the point where restarting would fix the issue temporarily, then when i brought it in, they did something to it because it worked better, but told me it was a hardware issue and needed replacing.

while waiting for the replacement it got to the point where i did full erase and then couldnt log in to setup due to the keyboard.

so now I’ve restarted my new pre i received 3 hours ago TWICE because this issue has resurfaced on this brand new replacement.

Is there a chance this is software/profile related or did i really just get a broken replacement pre?

I can’t believe some people tolerate this issue, unless their issues are less prominent/requiring long restarts. Can’t wait to switch to android at this point/diff hardware.

Husband and I both got our palm pre pluses at the same time. His is fine, I can text on his no keyboard issues. My first one was horrible right off the bat, so I gave it some time thinking I was just getting used to the keyboard. Finally got so fed up with it I had a new one sent to me. Initially this second Pre seemed much more solid and clicky (rather than mushy/squeaky) in the keyboard. As some others have said, over time, all of the keyboard issues returned. I not only have double letters but sometimes 4 and 5 of one letter per push of key.

I love everything else about this phone but will not get another one because of how infuriating this keyboard is. I’m ready to return #2.

Well I have the palm pre plus through Verizon, and I am getting the double type very frequently. I called Verizon to get it replaced within the 30 days and they said they would send me a replacement.
Hopefully the double type issue will go away.

SO FRUSTRATING!! I had one phone that started turning off whenever I opened the keyboard. Then I got a replacement and this one has all three double letter, input lag, and missing letters from the get-go. Now my keyboard won’t even respond and I have to take it back to the store. I can’t text or type anything because nothing shows up!

I am a new palm pre plus user. I love the phone despite some of the issues such as latencies in launching application etc. Of late, (approx. 30 days since I got the phone) I have been experiencing this problem of double character case, and missing keystrokes. It is progressively degnerating to the point of becoming unusable. I wish I had known this issue before buying the phone….

I have the same issue. The keys double type, lag, or don’t type at all. It really is almost unusable, I was wondering if it was just me but it seems as though this may not even be a fixable problem at this point. I love the phone and don’t want to get a different one, but I can’t text/email like this. It looks incredibly unprofessional and takes double the amount of time when I delete and fix everything!

On my second pre. The first one double typed from day 1. The verizon store repaced it. The second was so much better, for about 2 weeks and has now started double typing. I am really sick of it, but love every other aspect of the phone. Replacing it again and going through having to change the settings again is a pain if it’s just going to do it again. I wish it could just be fixed somehow.

Terrible problems with double letters or missing letters on keyboard. Never had a problem with the Treo or with an iPhone. Very frustrating and upsetting. Anywhere to adjust keyboard sensitivity?
