Sprint today announced that new Palm Pre customers who signed a new 2-year agreement would receive a $100 service credit. While not a direct price cut, it does essentially cut the price of the Palm Pre in half. Despite reports to the contrary, customers will still pay $199 (after a $100 mail-in rebate), but will see the credit over a 3-month period.
Reports indicate that while the Sprint retailers have not reduced the price of the Pre, Pre|Central reports that customers in the IPCS service area can purchase the Pre for $150.
